Come to meet and hear our local authors who will talk about their books, writing process, and publishing experience.

Christina Myers is a writer, editor, and former journalist. Her novel The List of Last Chances was longlisted for the Leacock Medal and was the fiction category winner in the 2023 Canadian Book Club Awards. She was the editor of an award-winning anthology of essays and her work has appeared in magazines, newspapers and online. Her next book, Halfway Home: Thoughts from Midlife, is coming May 2024 from House of Anansi. She is a member of Da’naxda’xw First Nation, grew up all over Canada, and lives in Surrey, BC.

Nicolette Richardson has always been a firm believer in story-telling. She is a former journalist, a human rights advocate and the Chief Conversation Starter at thegrownupmillennial.com. She does her best work at 3 AM, and holds this to be true : "As human beings we are all connected. As we traverse this world, it is up to us to find the common stories: to live them, to share them, to change them". Nicolette will be presenting her book of poetry, The Years I Lived Inside.

Karen Kristjanson is a mother, a wife, a singer, an author, a life coach, a grandmother, and a woman with a vast appreciation of nature. She lived mostly in Winnipeg until 18 years ago when she and her husband, Bruce, moved to Surrey. She has also lived in Tanzania and Iran, and studied in Winnipeg, London, Seattle, and Ottawa. Though a lover of words, Karen had no aspirations to be a writer until her first marriage imploded, when her sons were five and eight years old. Feeling desperately alone and adrift, she came across a few pages in a book. Reading another’s experience of dealing with the bittersweet maelstrom of parenting after divorce was so powerful and healing that she determined to write down, and share, others’ stories to support other moms and dads in sharing parenting. She waited years to do so and took almost ten to research and write it and find a publisher – which all resulted in Co-parenting From the Inside Out.

Authors will be selling books at the end of the event (if you’d like to purchase – bring cash)
