Flexible, upgrading courses for English, Math, Biology and Physics for permanent residents and domestic students. A free assessment is required to determine starting level. Offered at Surrey, Richmond and Langley, though currently online only during the COVID-19 pandemic. Small class sizes; one-to-one help. Student fees can be covered with an Adult Upgrading Grant.

Community Adult Literacy & Learn with a  Friend

Provides free English classes for newcomers, citizens and work permit holders. Participants learn about the Canadian work culture. Students work and speak in pair or group activities. One on one assistance is available from trained volunteer teachers. Good fit for anyone with low literacy, including native English speakers.

Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program

A free six week parenting program for parents or caregivers of children under 5. Offered at a variety of locations. Also offer a ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ Parenting for Dads. Free child minding and free bus tickets are also provided.

Learning Express: High school review, college and GED preparation as well as computer classes. All available online from home, when it works for you.

Partners - Adult Literacy Tutoring

Free one-to-one tutoring program for adults who want to improve their reading, writing, or math skills. Open to adults living or working in Surrey or White Rock, fluent in English, and reading or writing at less than a grade 8 level. We help with comprehension, grammar, spelling, beginner math, and more. During COVID-19, tutoring is offered remotely. 

Support for Parents of Young Children

Program focus is to help parents and caregivers with children ages 0-5 develop a deeper understanding of the benefits of connection and attachment based parenting. The program offers one-on-one services which are available in person, by phone and Zoom.
