Online Canadian Trivia Night Contest Official Rules
1) Entry Period
- The Contest begins at 7pm on June 5, 2025 and ends at 8pm on June 5, 2025.
2) Eligibility
- Winners must be 19 years of age or older.
- Winners must be registered for the program and be in attendance during the Online Canadian Trivia Night program on Microsoft Teams to claim the Prize if chosen as a winner of this contest.
- Surrey Libraries and City of Surrey employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the contest.
3) How to Enter
- Participants must register for the program, access the program online via Microsoft Teams on time, and be in attendance for the program duration.
- Participants must use the honour system and write down their answers on a piece of paper from their existing knowledge and must not use devices with Internet access to look up answers.
- Entrants must mark their own answers as correct or incorrect when Library staff share the correct answers.
- Late arriving participants can be permitted to enter, knowing that they will not win points for questions asked before they arrived.
4) Winners and Odds
- Winning entries will be determined based on trivia scores. Tiebreakers are in place to ensure there are no tied scores.
- There will be one grand prize winner who will be awarded a $10 gift card.
- The Winner will be announced on Microsoft Teams at the Online Canadian Trivia Night program on June 5, 2025 at 8pm.
- The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible persons registered and in attendance.
- The Prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable. No substitution of the Prize is permitted. The Prize cannot be returned for a cash refund.
5) Terms and Conditions
- By participating, you agree to
- abide by the Official Rules and the decisions of Surrey Libraries, which shall be final in all respects;
- release, discharge and hold harmless the Surrey Libraries from all liability, claims or damages, arising out of your participation in the Contest and the acceptance, use or misuse of a prize;
- Surrey Libraries reserves the right to cancel or suspend this Contest and cancel or refuse any entry.
6) Privacy
- Surrey Libraries adheres to both federal and provincial privacy legislation. Surrey Libraries is authorized to collect personal information under the authority of the Library Act and section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Personal information is collected for the purposes of Library services promotion and contacting prize winners. - Any personal information collected during this Contest will not be shared with third parties except as described in these Official Rules.
7) Governing Law
- These Official Contest Rules are subject to the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.
