14 year old Gerta is the talented singer and viola player in Würzburg, 1944, until the day her and her father are picked up by Nazis and taken to a concentration camp. It is there that she learns she is actually Gerta Rausch, a Jew and her father had been protecting her and sheltering her from the discovery. It is only after her liberation from the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in 1945 does she come to terms with her newfound identity, her return to music, and how to build a new future.  (Submitted by Erin)
