Semiahmoo Library is proud to be displaying paintings by Bernice Gilfoy for the month of September.

Bernice Gilfoy

I was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, raised in Alberta but I have spent my adult life in the Greater Vancouver area.  I have always taken an interest in the Arts Community, firstly music and for the past 20 years in art.

I painted in oil on canvas for many years but have changed to acrylics’ in the last five years.  I paint mostly landscapes but have branched out into old buildings, vehicles, abstracts, etc.  I spent the past 10 winters in Arizona and have been fascinated by the colourful sunsets in the desert.

I have attended workshops by Alan Wylie, Richard McDiarmid, Susan Falk, Tony O’Regan .  They all have very different styles but art has many dimensions to keep us learning new techniques.
