Alcohol & Drug Information Referral Service

Provides free, confidential information and referral services to British Columbians in need of support with any kind of substance use issue (alcohol or other drugs). Referral to community substance use treatment services is available for all ages. Information available from ADIRS includes prevention resources, support groups, and addiction related topics such as fetal alcohol syndrome. Free, multilingual telephone assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Astra

Assists youth who would like to change their relationship with alcohol and/or drugs through outreach and individual counselling. Provide services to you that are based on your goals and needs. You may want to work towards a healthy body, improving emotional health, family/significant relationships, friends, education, employment, legal issues, or housing. We can talk with you about harm reduction, using less, or stopping using. Provides distribution and training in the use of naloxone kits.

The clubhouse program serves adults living with a mental illness. Provides a safe, supportive environment where you can socialize, participate in fun recreational activities, learn employment skills, and increase community involvement. A 24/7 client-centered program that addresses immediate needs for a safe environment to sober up. Maximum stay 23 hours. 20 individual mats for males, 4 mats for females, and 1 mat for youth (16+) available. Connects clients with services. Has a witnessed injection services site for clients from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Used needle drop off site. Safer injection kits, and harm reduction supplies available upon request 24 hrs/day.

Virtual Substance Use & Psychiatry Service from the First Nations Health Authority

Provides Indigenous people in BC with access to specialists in addictions medicine and psychiatry. This is a referral-based service and is available at no cost to all people in BC who identify as being Indigenous. This service is also available to the family members of Indigenous people, even if they are non-status.
