Rocket Science Fun

Fri Aug 7 | 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm | Digital Branch

This program is for children ages 6 and older and their caregivers.

Join Susan from Surrey Libraries for learning the science behind rockets while building a rocket out of gummies and a moonball catapult using marshmallows.  Children will need a grownup to supervise them at home during the program.

This is a hands-on science program and children should gather these supplies ahead of time and have them ready when the program begins.

Supply list:

Rocket:

  • Gummies
  • Toothpicks

Moonball catapult:

  • Bag of medium marshmallows
  • Wooden skewers
  • Plastic spoon
  • Tape
  • Mini rubber balls (optional) or we can just use marshmallows (moonballs)

For this online program, we will be using Microsoft Teams. You will need a computer with a microphone (or headphones) and webcam, or your smartphone, or an iPad/tablet.

An email address is required for registration.
