Authors Among Us

Come to meet and hear our local authors, Lisa Monchalin and Jónina Kirton.

Lisa Monchalin is the first Indigenous woman in Canada with a PhD in Criminology. She is a professor at  Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the author of The Colonial Problem: An Indigenous Perspective on Crime and Injustice in Canada.

Jónina Kirton is a Métis poet who received the Emerging Artist Award from the City of Vancouver, in 2016. Jónina’s latest publication is a collection of poems, An Honest Woman.

There will be time for the audience to ask questions and interact with the authors. Refreshments will be provided. Authors will be selling books (in case you’d like to purchase a copy and get it signed).
